Kit comes to play

Rebecca was exited! Kit was coming over soon to play. Ding dong, went the doorbell. Rebecca jumped up and ran to the door. "Hello Kit!" "Hi Beck!"

First they played with their american girl dolls.

Then they danced. "This is fun," said Kit.

"Look at this cool trick," Rebecca said. "Wow!" Kit said.

Then Beck said, "Kit, what's in your bag?" "I'll show you," said Kit.

"Cool! paper dolls!" Said Beck. Rebecca played with Addy and Kit played with Harriet.
.

Sadly, after fifteen minutes of playing paper dolls, it was time for Kit to go home. "Goodbye," Rebecca called to Kit, "see you later!" What a fun play date it had been!

A Picnic

It was a beautiful fall day and Rebecca decided that the girls should go on a picnic.
"Brooklyn and Kirsten, I say we go on a picnic in the park today. It looks lovely outside." "Yes," said the girls, "But what shall we bring to eat?" Beck thought a moment, and then said, "I will pack a surprise lunch." In no time at all they were at the park.

Kirsten and Brooke looked away while Rebecca unpacked the lunch. The dogs had come along, and were sniffing inside the box.

Finally Rebecca said, "Okay, you can look now!" The girls looked and smiled.

"Oh yum!" They cried together. "That's a lot of food!"

They grabbed their plates and began to load them. {Rebecca gave the dogs each a meat patty.}

Then the ate while the warm sun shone down on them.

They each got the things that they liked, and of course, some veggies to go with it.

Brooklyn was a quick eater and finished first. She told the other girls, "The dogs want to play. I'll go throw them balls.

Brooklyn threw balls to the dogs for awhile until it was time to leave. It had been a wonderful picnic!

Kirsten's Crafts Number 1: Make a Baking Tray!

Hello! This is Kirsten. I was hoping that every week I could share a craft project for you to make. This week I'm showing how to make a baking tray I hope you like it!

This what the finished product looks like. Anyways, lets get started.

Here's what you will need: A piece of cardboard, clear tape, scissors, aluminum foil, and a toothpick {optional}.

Use the scissors to cut the cardboard the size that you want your baking tray to be.

Than cut a piece of foil big enough to wrap all the way around your piece of cardboard.

Place the cardboard in the center of the foil putting the shiny side of the foil down. Now tightly fold the foil over the edge of the cardboard.

Tape it down.

Then repeat with the other three sides, folding and taping.

It should look like this.

Now flip it over. This is the front. Bend the top edge to make it look more realistic.

Then use the toothpick to carefully engrave the company name into the foil, being careful not to rip it.

Now your done!

Brooklyn Gets a Pet

Brooklyn was reading her book, although she couldn't concentrate. She was going to the animal shelter to get a pet today! Rebecca and Kirsten both had dogs, And she was hoping for a cute and quiet cat that she could snuggle with her while she read a book. She was so exited.

Five minutes later, she glanced at the clock. It read three thirty exactly. "Time to go!" She told herself.

She climbed of the top bunk of the bed, and ran to put her shoes on. She was about to run outside to get the other girls, who were playing ball with their dogs, but they just happened to be coming in right then.

Rebecca and Kirsten put the balls away and the tired dogs settled down on the beds for a nice long nap. Brooklyn picked up her purse and asked the girls, "Ready to go?" "Yup!" They said. When they got outside, they walked past the library, through the park, and finally arrived at the animal shelter.

They went inside started looking at the animals. Rebecca said "aww, what a cute Basset Hound!" And Kirsten "I like the Husky." Brooklyn said, "they're both pretty sweet-but..."

Rebecca broke in. "Brooke, get the basset hound!" But Brooklyn said, "I came to get a cat." So they moved on.

They passed many animals, But they hadn't seen one cat. Brooklyn began to give up hope that they would ever find one, and began trying to think about a dog that she would like instead. Rebecca and Kirsten noticed she was unhappy, and Rebecca said, "You could always get that cute Basset Hound!"

"And there's still three animals," Kirsten added, "Let's check them out!" Sadly, they were all dogs. Then Kirsten noticed something and said, "Brooke, Beck, Look at this weird dog!

They came over to take a look. The creature moved so they could see its face. "Kirsten, that's not a dog," Said Rebecca, That's a... a cat!!" "Hooray!!!" Cried Brooklyn.

They took it out of its cage and cuddled it. They decided on a name together: Oreo. Then Beck said, "Okay, I admit it, Oreo is much cuter than that basset hound!"

Then they all had pets and they were all happy.

Beck's Baking Day

Hello! Beck here. Today is Saturday and usually every Saturday I bake something. Last Saturday I made two French baguettes for dinner. Everybody loved them! Today I'm making cookies just for fun.

These are my baking shelves. Do you like them?

I already made the cookie dough, earlier this morning. I'm making my two favorite kinds of cookies: chocolate kiss cookies and chocolate chip cookies.
First I get the dough out of the fridge.

I'm making the chocolate kiss cookies first, so I take my rolling pin and roll it out.
I sing a little song from a book I read while I roll.
'Mix and measure, stir and bake
Not a pie and not a cake!
Just some cookies full of spice!
I know my cookies will be nice.'

Here's the dough, all rolled out.

Then I take the cookie cutter and cut out the cookies, putting them on the tray as I go.

I put them in the oven and ten minutes later they came out of the oven a nice golden brown!

Then I baked the chocolate chip cookies. Here they are all finished, looking and smelling delicious.

I put them in a bin to save for afternoon snack. Look, I even have extra dough for Me, Brooklyn, and Kirsten to split once I clean up my ingredients!

That was fun baking! I got a little flour on my face, but it was worth it!
